SATURDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER
11.00AM - Short Films in Competition Part 1 (18)
In our Short Films Screening we will be showing a mix of fiction and documentaries, all produced by film makers from around the world. Whether you like traditional kung fu, modern hard hitting action, or real life stories, there will be something for you! The films in this section will be:
Shattered Remedy, Ronin, Latte For Jim, Sakura In The Cage, The Chef, Rustam - A Muay Thai Story, Welcome To The Party, Young Hot Bloods, Outlands, Shadow Theater, Bleak Salvation, Jump Senior, The Hitman And The Assassin, A Drowning Heart Part 2, Risky Business, The Tragedy Of Cain, and Brawler.
14.40PM - My Young Auntie 長輩 (12) presented by Arrow Films
In every genre there is a film which is universally loved – for kung fu, there is perhaps none greater than My Young Auntie, a groundbreaking kung fu comedy starring Kara Wai who won Best Actress at the Hong Kong Film Awards for her central role in director Lau Kar Leung’s kung fu comedy classic.
5.15PM - Free Seminar: Fight Choreography: Telling Stories through Fights with Dan Styles
This seminar will look at the process of fight choreography creation from a script (or even concept) level.
Exploring characters to discover how they approach a fight, move, react, make choices and respond to changes, as well as looking at the bigger picture of story arc, character journey and other contributing factors outside the fight.
We will create a fight choreography through discussion and development within the group.
Dan Styles has been choreographing fights for film, TV, games, theatre and live events for over 25 years, probably best known as the fight coordinator of Avengement, ( Scott Adkins, Jesse V Johnson (dir.) Dan has worked with Scott on seven films to date, including One Shot and One More Shot (directed by James Nunn), Accident Man and Eliminators for WWE studios. Dan has worked for Jesse V Johnson again since on One Ranger and Boudica and other fight heavy credits include three of The Rise of the Footsoldier franchise, Never Back Down: Revolt, and The Marine: Close Quarters (again for James Nunn).
Dan is also co-director of IDFight. A training provider for action and stunt skills for performers of all levels. IDFight offer courses, workshops and masterclasses in stage and screen combat, firearms, falls, reactions, wirework, horse riding, driving, and much more. See more at www.IDFight.com
7.15PM - One More Shot (18) + Q&A
ONE MORE SHOT takes ‘single take action’ to extremes...again! Starring friend of the Fighting Spirit Film Festival Scott Adkins, in an explosive sequel to ONE SHOT (2021). Unique non-stop action, also starring Michael Jai White (Undisputed 2, Triple Threat). This feature will be accompanied by a Q&A with director James Nunn hosted by Nanni Cobretti (I400Calci)
9.45PM - Charity Screening - Me And The Dragon’s Daughter (18)
The children of the Dragon Family owe their lives to their ‘father’ The Dragon. Yet for Sean Kilpatrick, an assassin trying to find balance in his life, he must protect those he loves at all costs. In order to break away from the cult, he faces the wrath of the Dragon’s Daughter.
Preceding this screening will be the short films , “The Brothers Swap”, “Rumble Riot” and “Whispers Of The Lost”.

2.35PM - Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, with support from the BFI Film Audience Network and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office
Two martial art masters (Chow Yun Fat and Michelle Yeoh) unite to solve a mystery surrounding the theft of Green Destiny, a treasured sword, as a young aristocrat and martial arts disciple (Zhang Ziyi) prepares for an arranged marriage. With breathtaking fight scenes by Yuen Wo Ping. This screening is supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office. Screening as part of Art Of Action, a UK-wide film season supported by National Lottery and BFI audience network. Preceding this will be a martial arts demonstration.
5.30PM - Duchess plus Q&A with Director Neil Marshall
Duchess (Charlotte Kirk), a small-time crook, tries to enter the treacherous underworld of diamond trafficking and ends up left for dead when a deal goes wrong. After the screening there will be a Q&A. with director Neil Marshall, hosted by Nanni Cobretti, (I400Calci)
8.00PM - Short Film Awards Ceremony
8.40PM - Legacy Of Rage ⻯在江湖 in association with 88 Films
Brandon Lee makes his explosive film debut in the 1986 Hong Kong action thriller classic, Legacy of Rage. Starring Brandon Lee (The Crow), Michael Wong (In the Line of Duty, Tiger Cage III), Regina Kent (Project A II) and Mang Hoi (Yes, Madam!) and Bolo Yeung (Enter the Dragon).
Preceding this screening will be the short films “EMBU 2024” and “The Hitman’s Duel”.
